AIU Library Team Visits Perpustakaan Sultan Badlishah, UiTM Kedah for Benchmarking and Collaboration Discussion

The Albukhary International University (AIU) Library team and the Sultan Badlishah Library team at UiTM Kedah recently engaged in a discussion to establish a collaborative partnership. The primary aim of this discussion was to build cooperation between the two libraries and to gain insights into the electronic resource services provided to patrons of the Sultan Badlishah Library. This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing resource-sharing and improving library services for both institutions. During the tour, Ms. Syuhada Ali, AIU Library’s Chief Librarian, highlighted the importance of such visits in understanding the best practices and innovative solutions implemented by peer institutions. “We are impressed by the advancements and the user-centric approach adopted by Sultan Badlishah Library. This visit provides us with valuable insights that will undoubtedly contribute to enhancing our own services at AIU,” she remarked. Universitas 'Aisyiyah, Bandung Visits AIU Library for Collaboration Discussions

The Albukhary International University (AIU) Library welcomed a delegation from Universitas 'Aisyiyah, Bandung, for an insightful visit to discuss potential collaboration opportunities. This visit marks the beginning of what both institutions hope will be a fruitful partnership. The visit commenced with a comprehensive tour of the AIU Library's facilities, showcasing its extensive collections, advanced digital resources, and student-centred services. Following the tour, both teams engaged in productive discussions focusing on potential areas of collaboration. Key topics included student-staff exchange programs, collaborative workshops, and programs. Both parties emphasized the importance of leveraging each other's strengths to benefit their academic communities. COR X AIUIS Knowledge Carnival: Where Ideas Come to Play 2024

On June 27, 2024, the AIU Library hosted the COR X AIUIS Knowledge Carnival: Where Ideas Come to Play. This event ran from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and involved 97 students from AIU International School, divided into ten groups, who participated in this event. This program also assists Library Associates and AIU students who volunteer to get involved. The first activity of the program was Info Hunt, in which the participants navigated the AIU Library to find the various knowledge stations, solve puzzles, and complete tasks. The next activity was Sentence Builder, where participants crafted sentences using random words to enhance their language skills. The program aimed to promote the rapid exchange of information and ideas, fostering a culture of lifelong learning and intellectual exploration. Additionally, it celebrated the joy of knowledge acquisition and promoted the library as a vibrant hub of intellectual exchange. The carnival successfully inspired attendees and reinforced the library's role as a dynamic environment for learning and idea sharing. CENTRE OF REFERENCE EXPLORE DIVERSITY TALK SERIES (CORPY TALK) Series #2

The AIU Library hosted the second series of the CENTRE OF REFERENCE EXPLORE DIVERSITY TALK SERIES (CORPY TALK), titled "Discovering the Joy of Reading: A Journey Through Libraries and Cultures" that featured engaging speakers Ryotaro Okamura, an exchange student from Chiba University, and Nabila Uzwatun Nisa, a former student from Yamawaki Gakuen Tokyo. The sharing session was moderated by AIU student Georgina Guinevere Anak Leslie. The program aimed to provide diverse perspectives on reading and cultural experiences, inspire attendees through captivating stories and facilitate the transfer of valuable lessons and insights from successful individuals. During the session, Ryotaro and Nabila introduced themselves. They shared their motivations for participating, discussed their initial impressions of the AIU Library's design and collection, and emphasized the importance of reading for personal and intellectual growth. They compared reading habits from their home countries with those in Malaysia, offering unique cultural insights and providing personal tips and strategies to foster a love for reading. The session was a resounding success, providing attendees with valuable insights into the joy of reading and the cultural significance of libraries. It fostered a greater appreciation for diversity and knowledge exchange within the AIU community.

CENTRE OF REFERENCE EXPLORE DIVERSITY TALK SERIES (CORPY TALK) Series #3

The third series of CORPY TALK, organized by the Centre of Reference, occurred on 20 September 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Level 1, AIU Library Building. The event, "Lifestyle Meets Learning: How Influencers Shape Campus Life and Library Use," drew a significant crowd of students and faculty. The session featured two prominent speaks, Habiba Dyaaeldin Nabil, a student from Bachelor of Business Administration (YouTube & TikTok Influencer), and Anastasiya Mihaylova, a student from Bachelor of Business Administration Marketing (Instagram & TikTok Influencer), who are both well-regarded for their lifestyle and campus engagement perspectives. The discussion was moderated by Georgina Guinevere, who skilfully steered the conversation toward how influencers reshape libraries’ role in student life. This session also has Facebook Live to cater to the online audience. Participants left with new insights into influencers' role in integrating lifestyle trends with academic resources, highlighting the evolving relationship between students, their campuses, and libraries. The series continues to inspire and engage the academic community by exploring current trends through relevant discussions.
